INVESTING WITH GREENFIELD

Greenfield was established to provide institutions and professional investors with an opportunity to increase their exposure to the agricultural sector via a suite of professionally managed products targeting points throughout the sector.

Traditionally agricultural exposure has been available to institutional investors only via commodity derivatives and listed agricultural equities which have been relatively scarce in comparison with the size of the sector. Exposure to rural land ownership was only available by investing in listed companies owning such property which are again relatively scarce and often passively managed.

Greenfield believes that the importance of agriculture in the international economy and its prospects in a supply constrained world, support a higher weighting than currently available to institutional investors and has established a range of professionally managed products positioned to provide such exposure.

Additionally Greenfield believes that demand/supply fundamentals around the products of agricultural land are such that the sector is likely to become increasingly capital and knowledge intensive, providing particularly favourable returns to more sophisticated investors able to: benefit from economies of scale and technology, attract the most highly qualified practitioners, and more freely access capital markets.

Greenfield products are positioned to target long-term exposure to the sector, and focus on adding value to its investments by leveraging off its deep expertise in the sector. Currently, Greenfield has investment funds available targeting:

  • Diversified NZ agriculture & agribusiness
  • NZ Carbon Forestry
